Dear Riley . . .
As much as I am going to miss you, as much as I’m going to long for your constant action sounds as you play, as much as I’m dreading how completely silent (yes, I said dreading silence!) it will be around here, as much as my heart is going to hurt, I am excited for you. I am proud of you. I am happy for you. It is going to be a change, for both of us, but I have every ounce of faith you are going to do just fine in Kindergarten. You will adapt easily. You will make tons of friends. I even bet all the girls will think you are cute
I mean, how could they not?! You will burst with knowledge! You will come home with smiles and can’t wait to tell me what you did today. And for all of those reasons, make the pain of you not being here with me every single day (for the past 5 years) a little less.
I love you
